BP Oil Spill

So I was asked to summarize an article on the BP Oil Spill Communications Effort: The good, the bad, and the ugly.  So here goes...

A Singular view of the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico

To review the First amendent....Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting, the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievance.

This amendent has been sidestepped once again by the company at fault of the spill (BP) and our currect presidency.  Within the last week, there have been over 4 facebook pages shut down by those involved or related to those involved with "Boycott BP" page.  Facebook has now said it was just a mere coincidence/mistake and reinstated at least one of them.

There is now a bill known as the "Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act" (PCNAA).  This bill gives the President of the United States the right to shut down the Internet when he/she deems necessary. Funny how he can shut down whatever he deems fit after he has handled the communication of this spill so poorly. He had promised this mess would be resolved within a week.

Just seems as though our president and BP are hiding things from us.  Another example of this is a CNN broadcast journalist had been reporting near and about the site of the spill since the disaster happened, but is now being told they will be fined $40,000 and charged with a felony if they come within 65 ft of a the spill.

Hopefully we don't lose our American values by letting even our constitution be walked on and ripped away from under our feet.  As the spill will probably take quite some time to fix, I hope our rights won't take as long to recover from this tragedy.
