Leadership Style & Strengths
My leadership style is unique and my strength is that I try and can connect with others.
A Perfect Meeting
A perfect meeting would consist of individuals confronted with an issue and have a point. All individuals would consist of those who are able to communicate their own views and experiences. The manager/leader of the group would be able to reiterate what the opinions and optional resolutions may be while ringing the stranglers back into the subject at hand and keeping the group on track. The meeting would be precise and to-the-point while also resolving the problem. Another point to a perfect meeting would not just include "minutes" from the last meeting, but reiterate what was the issue at the last meeting, what has happened since, and if the purposed resolution was the best option associated with the group. If not, what can be done now.
The meeting would not pin-point anyone or bash on anyone to single them out specifically, but bring together the group as a whole to enable Synergy! That is how I would describe a perfect meeting.

Communications Goal
For my Communications class, we needed to identify a goal pertaining to communications for our individual selves to work on. I believe that my biggest issue is my reactions to things that are said that I find offensive. I seem to assume they are offensive and retort with a remark or reply that is meant to be just as offensive. I do not think of the underlying issue they are speaking about because I lose track of the subject matter at hand and jump into defense mode.
Many times when I am trying to explain something or narrate a story to someon, I am so intent on expressing the "intensity" of the story that I ramble on to forget about what the point of the story was and end up looking like a fool.
My goal is to try to focus on a story, get to the point quickly and express the intensity with body language rather than words so that I remember what I'm talking about. My goal is to also express that I was offended by something by means of anything other than offending right back.
To do this I will practice the steps of describing feelings and also practice making/producing proper though process when on-the-spot and overcome that anxiety. When it comes to my reactions, I can practice just taking a "time-out" to process my thoughts and then respond by reiterating what the offendee said, then state how and why I feel that way.

BP Oil Spill
So I was asked to summarize an article on the BP Oil Spill Communications Effort: The good, the bad, and the ugly. So here goes...
A Singular view of the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico
To review the First amendent....Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting, the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievance.
This amendent has been sidestepped once again by the company at fault of the spill (BP) and our currect presidency. Within the last week, there have been over 4 facebook pages shut down by those involved or related to those involved with "Boycott BP" page. Facebook has now said it was just a mere coincidence/mistake and reinstated at least one of them.
There is now a bill known as the "Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act" (PCNAA). This bill gives the President of the United States the right to shut down the Internet when he/she deems necessary. Funny how he can shut down whatever he deems fit after he has handled the communication of this spill so poorly. He had promised this mess would be resolved within a week.
Just seems as though our president and BP are hiding things from us. Another example of this is a CNN broadcast journalist had been reporting near and about the site of the spill since the disaster happened, but is now being told they will be fined $40,000 and charged with a felony if they come within 65 ft of a the spill.
Hopefully we don't lose our American values by letting even our constitution be walked on and ripped away from under our feet. As the spill will probably take quite some time to fix, I hope our rights won't take as long to recover from this tragedy.
